Celebremos El Niño – Traditional Carols and Lullabies from the Americas

Building on the success of the 2018 Summer Festival program The New World: Journey from the Inca Trail, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale 2018 Winter Festival features repertoire representing five centuries of compositions ranging from Latin American Baroque to traditional North American carols and lullabies. Carrying on an annual tradition, a setting of “O Magnum Mysterium” will be performed; this time written by renowned Venezuelan composer César Alejandro Carrillo. The program, Celebremos El Niño (“Let Us Celebrate the Child”), will be presented in eight concerts by the all-professional Chorale in Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe venues. Artistic Director Joshua Habermann, now in his tenth season with the ensemble, conducts the program. Santa Fe resident Kathleen McIntosh will perform on her John Phillips harpsichord.
