Biography for Ricky Allen

Hello, my name is Ricky Allen. Thanks for taking the time to inquire about me. The most successful Realtors build their business on repeat clients and referrals. I am committed to providing you with the necessary energy and enthusiasm in order to exceed your expectations of a Realtor. I have an extensive background in business and negotiations; and a real passion for real estate. I bought my first property in my early 20's; and have bought and sold within my own portfolio of real estate for over 30 years. There isn't an open house I can drive by without stopping! I have a wide range of real estate experience; from owning and managing international investment properties to possessing residential development experience. I not only have experience in 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, but I also have a keen eye for residential design components. And, I love looking at homes!

I possess a B.S. in Economics from the University of Missouri; and a MBA from Washington University. However, my most valuable life lessons have probably come from my extensive international travels and interactions with many, diverse cultures. I have traveled the world trading in precious gemstones such as Myanmar (Burma) seeking rare rubies and Sri Lanka in search of sapphires.

My entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic began at an early age with a strong family influence. My grandfather immigrated from Poland in the early 1900's with only a backpack to his name and began peddling. A general store soon opened. From that beginning and three generations later; we guided this to become one of the largest foodservice companies in the U.S.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I have maintained the Midwestern family values and work ethic. My wife, Cathy, and I have been married for 32 years. We are extremely proud of our two children, Matthew & Jessica. And, of course, don't let me forget to show you a picture of our darling granddaughter, Charlotte.

Cathy and I have settled in Santa Fe. We have traveled the world near and far; yet have found no place as magical and spectacular as Santa Fe. We have a beautiful horse ranch where we ride and train Peruvian Pasos, and enjoy our 3 dogs.

I have spent three winters at Vail Ski Resort giving skiers the ultimate customer service and providing guided ski tours of the mountain. I also love road biking, swimming, and most other aerobic activities such as racquetball and squash. My other passions are cooking and enjoying red wine.
